A nature program just for the little ones!
Early experiences in nature are essential for healthy development. Each day begins with story and play time in the Sasamite Village which kicks-off a theme for the day. Each day presents new adventures, whether it be time in the woods or time in the water. The Sasamite Nature Club is a play based learning program, focused on providing positive outdoor experiences for young children. While it has a schedule full of arts and crafts, games and camp activities, the campers set the pace for the day. If slug hunting is what catches campers attention that day, then time will be made for some slug hunting!
With a staff ratio of 4:1, this is the perfect way to assist your little one to socialize and to introduce them to nature in a safe and fun environment.
Each daily session is 3.5 hours long running over the lunch hours. Sasamite Nature Club has it own unique start and finish time to allow for a less hectic transition, one which avoids the busyness of regular day camp programs and buses.
Sasamite Nature Club runs Monday to Friday, and is day program operating from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. each day.
Activities may include:
Programs and activites are geared to the age, abilities and interests of individual, as well as the group.
If your camper has a difficult time with saying good-bye to you, or perhaps you have a difficult time saying good-bye to your son or daughter, we recommend a quick and timely drop-off. Our experience has taught us that prolonged good-byes increase camper anxiety levels around separation. When you arrive, Sasamite staff will introduce themselves immediately to your camper, as well as other group members, and then get to work engaging your child in an arts and crafts activity while they wait for everyone to arrive. Your help with making this an easy transition is greatly appreciated.
