Belcarra Park Day Camp is an exciting nature and science program for children ages 6-12, that will get them outside, active and having fun this summer. The program is designed to foster positive social growth, group awareness and leadership, while building a love for nature and the outdoors. Children will be introduced to science based projects, activities and enjoy a wide range of games and outdoor activities.
Situated on Burrard Inlet, at the mouth of Indian Arm, Belcarra Park provides an opportunity for children to explore the exciting intertidal zone. Campers will discover the wonders of the sea life including starfish, barnacles, crabs, and mussels. They will enjoy the local hikes in the area including Admiralty Point and Jug Island which feature beautiful ocean views and small beaches, and they will also learn about the rich early history of Belcarra.
Belcarra Park Day Camp is Sasamat's satellite day camp that operates independently from the main site. Campers will be based out of the beautiful park, with the main large picnic shelter as their home base.
Belcarra Park Day Camp runs from Monday to Friday, and is day camp program operating from 10:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. each day.
Belcarra Day Camp programs provide campers with the opportunity to participate in a wide range of outdoor activities in a safe and well supervised environment. Programs and activities are geared to the age, abilities and interests of the individual, as well as the group.
Transportation is provided from the Port Moody Recreation Centre (300 Ioco Road) only.
The bus will stop at the Port Moody Recreation Centre in front of the arena.
Please arrive 10 minutes early.
Belcarra Day Camp campers do not participate in Sasamat Late Night Thursdays. The bus schedule will remain the same on Thursdays.
Things to Know!
Payment, Refund and Transfers
Full payment must be complete no later than May 1, 2017.
If payment has not been received in full by May 1, 2017, your registration will be cancelled and your spot will be given to another camper. If you require a payment alternative, please contact the office.
Transfer Fee- Sasamat will charge a transfer fee of $30.00 per child each time a camper wishes to transfer from one week or program to another. All transfers must be complete 30 days prior to the start date of the camp session.
Cancellations more than 30 days before the start of the camp session - Refunds are provided, minus a $50.00 administration fee.
Cancellations within 30 days of a camp session - Refunds are not provided unless your spot can be filled with a camper of the same age and gender. If your spot can be filled, a refund will be provided, minus a $50.00 administration fee.
Substitution of Campers - Due to long waiting lists and age and gender issues, camper substitutions are not allowed. If you cancel a camper's registration, another camper can not be put in his or her place.
