Sasamat Outdoor Centre's summer Family Camp weekends are designed for the whole family. So often summer camp is just about children, however this is the chance for parents to get right in there as well! Whether your family has young children you would like to introduce to summer camp, or your would just like to experience camp as a family, family camp is a great option.

The days will be broken into a series of camp activities and games. Participants will be divided into groups based on age. Children and youth will be grouped together and adults will be placed with other adults. From 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sasamat staff will lead you and your children through exciting, age appropriate programming. Additionally, two hours of evening programming will be provided on Saturday night. On Sunday, programs will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and buses will depart at 4:00 p.m. While programs are running, Sasamat staff will supervise your children and you are free to go and enjoy the camp programs with other adults, whether that be a nice quiet paddle or perhaps just a relaxing coffee by the lake.

Each day there will be family time provided where activities will be open for you and your children to go and enjoy together. During times when programs are not running (morning, meals, family time, bed time), you are responsible for supervising your children. Please review the parent responsibilities below. In the evening on Friday and Saturday after evening programs, there will be a staff member walking around the sleeeping accomodations on "stroll patrol" from 9:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.. If you would like to relax in the lodge after you children are settled, the staff will be there if they wake up and need help finding you.

Accommodation, meals, transportation, and program activities are included. All meals are prepared by our staff and served home-style in the Helm Lodge dining hall. Meals include breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.

Family Camp runs from 7:00 p.m. Friday evening to 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, it is a residential program.
