He is a past President of the British Columbia Camping Association Board of Directors, and has been recognized by the Canadian Camping Association Award for his contributions to the growth and development of camping in Canada.

Throughout his 23-year tenure with Sasamat Outdoor Centre and the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of BC (ANHBC), Bronco has embraced the core values of integrity, innovation and growth. As Executive Director since 2006, he has developed effective business strategies to ensure customer satisfaction and sustainability, while successfully leading a staff team in designing and implementing new outdoor programs for children, youth and families. Bronco is also active in promoting the Neighbourhood House movement in British Columbia through his role with ANHBC.

Kristen believes that camp offers the type of play that can be life altering for children, families and communities. She brings a diverse background of international development, adventure therapy and outdoor education to Sasamat. Kristen has nine years of experience in the summer camping and outdoor education industry, and is committed to engaging children and youth with the natural world. Kristen is an advocate for teaching practical life skills through experiential programming, where play results in self-confidence, empathy, independence and cooperation. Day to day, Kristen strives to empower staff to fulfill their goals, problem solve and connect with students and campers.

Kristen found her passion for outdoor recreation at a young age, starting her summer camp tenure when she was seven in Ontario. Ever since she can’t seem to pry herself away from the camping world, finding joy teaching and collaborating with others in the outdoors.

Brian enjoys downhill skiing, swimming, snowshoeing, kayaking, canoeing, portage camping on crown land, kart racing, rocketry, electric guitar, and studying entomology. Ask him about bugs!
 
He is a self-proclaimed "Jack of all trades" with a background in locksmithing. He also has a degree in philosophy from WLU. You'll most probably see him at camp fabricating or fixing things!
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Nadia Martini - Food Services Manager

P1060781.jpgNadia is the Italian heart of the kitchen staff team. She has been with Sasamat for 15 years, bringing a wealth of culinary and food service management experience. Nadia’s background includes the high-end restaurant business, event planning and corporate catering.  

Nadia is an advocate of a well-rounded meal with all the trimmings, consistently improving Sasamat’s food service. She brings a personal flare to all menus, never disappointing the palate. Nadia has also expanded Sasamat’s capacity for events and weddings through her meticulous management style. She was drawn to Sasamat by the people and community she found and now leads positive development amongst the staff team.

CandiceCandice is a prairie girl who was drawn to the beauty and majesty of the mountains after hiking the infamous West Coast Trail.  She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan, majoring in Human Resource Management.  Prior to coming to Sasamat, she gained extensive office experience in both industrial settings and service-based environments. Candice has a knack for business and prides herself on her strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Candice is a firm believer that the camp experience is both educational and fun for everyone who has the opportunity to attend and that the friendships made can last a lifetime.  She feels it is truly a unique experience to be able to see the joy camp brings and work in the beautiful surroundings of Sasamat Lake.
