Kristen Hyodo - Summer Camp and Outdoor Education Director
604-939-2268 Ext 5

Kristen believes that camp offers the type of play that can be life altering for children, families and communities. She brings a diverse background of international development, adventure therapy and outdoor education to Sasamat. Kristen has nine years of experience in the summer camping and outdoor education industry, and is committed to engaging children and youth with the natural world. Kristen is an advocate for teaching practical life skills through experiential programming, where play results in self-confidence, empathy, independence and cooperation. Day to day, Kristen strives to empower staff to fulfill their goals, problem solve and connect with students and campers.

Kristen found her passion for outdoor recreation at a young age, starting her summer camp tenure when she was seven in Ontario. Ever since she can’t seem to pry herself away from the camping world, finding joy teaching and collaborating with others in the outdoors.

Ben Quinn - Office Manager
604-939-2268 Ext 1
Ben fell in love with camp at age 6, and has been
coming to Sasamat ever since. Starting as a camper, he
quickly realized that he is drawn to outdoor recreation
and camping. Ben has worked at Sasamat in several
capacities for 10 years now. Starting as a volunteer
and progressing through various roles from Day Camp
Counsellor to Program Coordinator, Ben has a breadth of experience leading children through the outdoors. He holds a Bachelor’s
in Business Administration and a Diploma in Human Resources
Management. When he’s not at camp, you’ll find him either
at the golf course or the hockey rink, depending on the time of year!
Bob Corbeil- Facility Manager
604-939-2268 Ext 2

Bob129.jpgBob comes to Sasamat after a long career in various trades. He is dedicated to furthering Sasamat’s goals - to promote camping and positive outdoor experiences. But, it is the development of leadership he finds particularly intriguing. In his tenure at Sasamat, he has seen, first hand, how quickly leadership abilities (in staff and campers alike) can blossom and inspire others. Bob grew up without camp and never thought any more of it. Sasamat has shown Bob how enriching  the camping experience can be and how much he really did miss.

Bob loves to read, mostly history, politics and crime or spy novels. He hikes and loves his garden, and his two dogs, Daisy and Zeus.
