Sasamat Outdoor Centre is located on a private 5-acre lakeshore property within Belcarra Regional Park, just outside of Port Moody, British Columbia. Less than an hour’s drive from Vancouver, it’s the perfect setting to enjoy the quiet of a lakeside forest with the convenience of an easy commute.
Providing accommodation, catering, and activities, Sasamat Outdoor Centre is an excellent BC destination for hosting special events of all kinds including:

Whether your private event is large or small, multi-day or single day, Sasamat Outdoor Centre has all the comforts and services needed to make it a success. Single day rentals begin as early as 9:00am and end at 4:00pm, with lunch included; extended day rentals until 7:00pm may also be arranged (lunch and dinner included). Weekday overnight trips can range from one to four nights, year-round (excluding July and August). Weekend adventures begin on Friday at 4:30pm, extending until Sunday afternoon’s 4:00pm departure. Our staff can work with your team to build the type of event that’s perfect for your group and your budget.
Sasamat Outdoor Centre is a non-profit organization committed to environmental education and stewardship (part of the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of British Columbia), so when you choose us, you’re helping to support outdoor and environmental education programs for children and youth.
Facilities and Accommodations
Our beautiful Main Lodge has wrap-around windows, a vaulted ceiling with wood beams and clerestory windows, and a ceiling-height stone fireplace.
The lodge doubles as the dining hall, and can comfortably sit up to 80 guests for meetings, workshops, and activities, and there is plenty of covered patio space for groups larger than 80; it’s equipped with Wi-Fi, basic A/V equipment, and a coffee/tea bar. All bathroom and shower facilities are located in the Main Lodge. We also have two additional multipurpose indoor spaces, the Cedar Room and Wallace Room, which are subject to seasonal availability.
Outdoor spaces include a private dock, swimming area and change rooms, trails, and campfire pit areas (seasonally available).
Sasamat Outdoor Centre features three types of rustic sleeping accommodations. Seven Cabins are nestled in the woods for privacy, each furnished with six single beds. Four Cottages overlook the lake and have three semi-private rooms with bunk beds which can sleep up to ten people each. Two Yurts each sleep 10 people in bunk beds, and have skylights for great night-sky viewing. The total sleeping capacity is 102 guests; all accommodations have heat, lights, and electrical outlets, but linens and pillows are not supplied.
Onsite Catering
All meals, snacks and tea/coffee services are prepared in our full-service commercial kitchen by our professional chefs. Providing our guests with delicious, high quality, nutritional food is one of our top priorities, using fresh ingredients and in-house recipes. We can create a menu specific to your requirements, and offer options for vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free, allergies or other dietary concerns.
Outdoor Adventures
Complement your facility rental with outdoor activities. Our trained staff can instruct you and your guests through some of your favourite camp activities such as canoeing, kayaking, swimming, archery, rock climbing, wood chopping, low or high ropes, team building initiatives, and so much more!
