Our Wedding Venue
Picture your wedding with a spectacular Westcoast backdrop of evergreen forest or lakeside beach. Sasamat Outdoor Centre is located on the shores of beautiful Sasamat Lake, so you can have a destination wedding less than an hour’s drive from Vancouver. Our spectacular natural backdrop is the ideal venue for small-to-medium weddings in a simple and rustic setting, with lakeside accommodations for you and your guests.

The Ceremony
Using the lake and surrounding forest as a natural backdrop, the outdoor wedding ceremony can be held either on our private beach, main campfire area, or patio. Your photos will be naturally beautiful, with a backdrop of mountains, lake, and forest. Get creative and add your own DIY wedding décor and special touches. The timing of your ceremony is entirely up to you.
The Reception
The Main Lodge, with seating for up to 80 guests, will be the setting for your reception. The beautiful Main Lodge has wrap-around windows, a vaulted ceiling with wood beams and clerestory windows, and a ceiling-height stone fireplace. Larger wedding receptions can be hosted on the outside patio.
Appetizers can be ordered for post-ceremony mingling and cocktail hour. The main dinner service will be prepared and served by our professional chefs as part of your Wedding Package.
For an Instagrammable moment, fill one of our canoes full of ice as part of your bar setup. Note that you’re responsible for organizing alcohol service, including acquiring a permit, purchasing alcohol, and providing bartenders. Learn more in the Sasamat Wedding Venue Information.
Outdoor Fun
We have trails throughout our wooded property, and there are also nearby trails which circle Sasamat Lake. For those who want to explore the area, Belcarra Regional Park is a short drive away. Our campfire area can be used for all wedding packages, as long as a burning ban isn’t in effect (typically fires are permitted October-May). Please note that we do not provide firewood.
Complement your wedding with our popular outdoor activities. Rent our canoes or kayaks, play on the low-ropes course, or try your hand at archery. Activities for your guests are available at an hourly rate for staff supervision, and are subject to staff availability and seasonal restrictions.
Onsite Catering
One of the most important parts of your celebration is the food. With a focus on fresh and quality ingredients, our chefs create delicious gourmet meals. Our experienced culinary team will consult with you to put together the perfect menu for your wedding. We can provide options for vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free, and any other allergies or dietary restrictions. Details of our food service are provided in the Sasamat Wedding Venue Information
Our Facilities & Accomodations
Relax and enjoy our beautiful 5-acre property for the entire weekend - the ideal rustic wedding venue. With the main lodge, private beach, extensive dock, forest, cabins, and multipurpose Wallace and Cedar Rooms, your stay at Sasamat Outdoor Centre will be cozy and fun, surrounded by nature’s beauty.
For wedding packages which include overnight stays, we offer accommodation in cabins, cottages, and yurts, for the feel of camping with the convenience of a roof and prepared meals. Wedding glamping!
Our Wedding Packages
We offer three wedding package options, as described below and in more detail in the Sasamat Wedding Venue Information. Choose the one which best fits your budget and timeline.
Trillium Package – Full Weekend Wedding
Offer your guests the full getaway experience with the Trillium package and make your wedding a weekend to remember. With the Trillium Package you’ll arrive Friday evening and depart Sunday afternoon, with on-site lakeside accommodations.
On Friday your guests can arrive as early as 6:00pm, and you can choose to welcome them with a campfire cookout or hold a rehearsal dinner with a catered meal from our chefs. Regardless of how you want to spend Friday night, you can relax and enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, baked goods and fruit. Wake up Saturday morning to a delicious hot breakfast for you and your guests, and enjoy a buffet-style lunch before your afternoon ceremony celebration festivities. Host your ceremony and reception buffet dinner throughout the day and night, and wake up Sunday morning to a delicious brunch buffet. Enjoy the rest of the day relaxing outside, or get cozy inside as you leisurely pack up and depart by 4:00pm. This package is available for booking all year round.
Lily Package - One Night Wedding
The Lily Package provides your guests with on-site accommodations following your ceremony and reception, allowing for a more relaxed event without the worry of driving at the end of the night. With the Lily Package you can arrive as early as 9:00am on Saturday and enjoy the natural, rustic beauty of our site, as well as a self-serve buffet style lunch, while you get ready to welcome your guests for the celebration and reception buffet dinner. Wake up Sunday to a delicious brunch buffet and enjoy the rest of the day outdoors or get cozy inside, as you leisurely pack up and depart by 4:00pm. This package is available for booking all year round.
Rose Package - Single Day Wedding
The Rose Package gives you a beautiful lakeside wedding venue for your ceremony, and a buffet reception dinner for guests, wrapping everything up within the same day. Arrival can begin as early as 9:00am, with departure of all guests by 1am. This package is available for booking only during our off-season months (i.e. October-March).
