Rovers Day Camp is an exhilarating week, suitable for kids who are first-time campers or returning campers. This program takes place at our main site on Sasamat Lake, and gives children the opportunity to try traditional summer camp activities like canoeing, the climbing wall or archery. Upon arrival, campers are placed in groups with seven peers of similar age.
Rovers Day Camp, like all programs at Sasamat, is founded on the values of inclusion, respect and compassion. Campers are encouraged to try new things, but they always have the choice to decide what’s best for themselves. If a challenge arises while at camp, our highly trained staff will work with day campers to problem solve and help each camper to have a successful experience.
Each group will have one counsellor, as Rovers Day Camp has a 1:8 staff to camper ratio. Sasamat Outdoor Centre camp staff are high achieving senior high school or post-secondary students that undergo a six day in house training program prior to the start of summer camp. Day Camp counsellors famously love to get silly and have a great time with their campers, creating lasting memories.

Before & After Care
Before and After Care is extended daytime care for families that may need longer child care hours. Before and After Care is based out of Port Moody Recreation Centre and is run by Sasamat Camp Counsellors. Participants will get to enjoy the recreation centre’s playground, as well as low organizational games or activities. The cost is $45 per child for the week, and the hours are:
8:00am until the buses depart the Recreation Centre (i.e. 9:30am)
When the buses arrive end of day (i.e. 3:45pm) until 5:30pm
Facilities
Rovers Day Campers will spend all their time outdoors. However, they’ll be assigned a bag spot, where backpacks and gear are dropped off for the day, and they’ll have access to their belongings throughout the day. Note that we recommend leaving valuables at home for the day – they’re not needed at camp!
Bathrooms are centrally located in the Main Lodge and accessible as needed.
Food
Rovers Day Campers can select our Bagged Lunch program as an add-on during registration. The Bagged Lunch fee is $45.00 for the week, and lunches will include a sandwich, fruit, a snack and a juice box. You’re welcome to pack your own lunch, but it must be nut-free due to the large number of children with allergies.
Cancellation Policy
If your plans change and you need to adjust your registration – not a problem! Our cancellation policy outlines what fees will apply, in addition to the non-refundable deposit of $100.00. Please note that the non-refundable deposit is per child, per registration.
